Wałbrzych jest jednym z najszybciej wyludniających się miast poprzemysłowych w Polsce. Prezentowane fotografie są efektem moich spotkań z Wałbrzychem i jego mieszkańcami. Starałem się uchwycić reakcje mieszkańców tego miasta na utratę pracy i sprawdzonych sposobów funkcjonowania w górniczych społecznościach. Spóścizna górniczej kultury materialnej zostaje przekształcona przez mieszkańców w taki sposób by mogła im słuzyć w zmienionej rzeczywistości.

Wałbrzych is one of the fstest depopulating, postindustrial Polish cities. My multiple encounters with this city and its inhabitants are summed up with presented photographies. I tried to capture means by which people of former mining societies adapt to the new realms of everyday life. I do not show people themselves though. I rather try to frame the city by those elements chosen to be abandoned and also the wealth of industrial, material culture its citizens reuse and transform to fit new reality.
